A developer tested whether AI agents can build a website with Silex, the open-source website builder, by giving two agents — Claude and Qwen 27B — the same one-sentence prompt: build a three-page site for a small neighbourhood bakery. The experiment also measured what such AI-assisted development costs in dollars and in CO2 emissions, figures rarely reported in AI coding demonstrations.

Why now: People are discussing the real cost and environmental impact of AI-generated code, which is rarely quantified.
