ProPublica has released a lookup tool that lets people check whether mail service has been reduced in their ZIP code, based on reporting about USPS mail delays affecting ballot delivery ahead of the midterms. The tool follows concerns that slower postal service could delay mail ballots and other mail, prompting voters to verify local delivery performance.
Why now: Concerns that USPS service reductions could delay mail ballots ahead of elections are driving interest in checking local conditions.
