Why new cars offer CarPlay but not Android Auto
Original: Why do almost all new cars have apper carplay but no android auto? https:// lemmy.world/post/53450335
Drivers are asking why most new cars come with Apple CarPlay while Android Auto is frequently missing, even on models that support smartphone mirroring. The question has sparked discussion among car buyers and tech enthusiasts, with some speculating that licensing costs, testing requirements, or manufacturer partnerships with Google may explain the imbalance. Others report the gap often comes down to regional availability or automakers' slow software certification.
Why now: Drivers are noticing the imbalance when shopping for new cars and want an explanation.
