Carl Bildt accuses Boris Johnson of being a Putin apologist
Original: I'm sorry to say, but @BorisJohnson is totally ignorant of the facts on Ukraine, EU and Russia. Apologist for Putin. htt
Former Swedish prime minister Carl Bildt has publicly accused Boris Johnson of being ignorant about Ukraine, the EU and Russia, calling the former UK foreign secretary an apologist for Vladimir Putin. The criticism came in response to Johnson's remarks blaming EU 'pretensions' for contributing to the Ukraine crisis, comments Bildt says ignore the facts of the conflict.
Why now: Johnson's comments blaming the EU for the Ukraine conflict drew a sharp public rebuke from a prominent European statesman.
