IMSS workers in Mexico protest for 10% pay raise
Original: incremento salarial imss
Workers at Mexico's social security institute, the IMSS, are holding demonstrations to demand a 10% salary increase. Medical and administrative staff have staged protests, including at the Gine Obstetrics Hospital in Mexico City, and announced intermittent road blockades on October 22, with routes and times circulated publicly. The actions are disrupting services and drawing attention to longstanding pay grievances among institute staff.
Why now: Planned blockades and ongoing protests by IMSS staff are causing public disruption and raising concerns about health service access.
