Original: # BBC # News # Education # Family Only one female scientist named in GCSEs, research finds https:// w.st/K8SrF
Research covered by BBC News has found that only one female scientist is named across GCSE science qualifications, suggesting women remain largely absent from exam content despite their contributions to science. The finding has prompted discussion about representation in the curriculum and how science education presents role models to young people, with calls for exam boards to broaden the figures they feature.
Why now: The findings renew debate about gender representation in the school science curriculum.
