Greens accuse Labour of racist approach to immigrants and refugees
Original: You know what's racist? Treating immigrants and refugees like shit. Labour have no leg to stand on, and they know it. #
A Green Party supporter is accusing UK Labour of hypocrisy on immigration, arguing that the party's treatment of immigrants and refugees amounts to racism and that Labour 'has no leg to stand on' on the issue. The criticism name-checks Green figures Sian Berry and Miatta Fahnbulleh, positioning the Greens as the welcoming alternative on asylum policy.
Why now: Immigration and asylum policy is a live point of contention between Labour and the Greens in UK politics.
