Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS heads back to the outer solar system
Original: Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS is currently transitioning into the outer solar system after reaching perihelion. Orbi
Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS has passed its closest approach to the Sun and is now moving back into the outer solar system. Orbital analysis indicates it is a long-period comet from the Oort Cloud on a highly eccentric trajectory, and it will continue receding as astronomers track its departure.
Why now: Skywatchers and amateur astronomers are following the comet's post-perihelion fade and departure from the inner solar system.
