LeBron James and a rebuilt Philadelphia 76ers lineup opened the NBA season by beating the defending champion New York Knicks on their ring night at Madison Square Garden. The Sixers used the win as a measuring stick for their overhauled roster, with Tyrese Maxey contributing alongside James. A Sixers figure called the performance 'encouraging' as the team showed early chemistry against a title contender.
