Climate campaigners have condemned what they call a 'maddening' decision to approve the Jackdaw gasfield in the North Sea, according to the Guardian. The approval by UK regulators for further North Sea fossil fuel extraction has drawn sharp criticism from environmental groups, who argue it undermines climate goals amid the ongoing climate crisis debate in the UK.
Why now: A new approval for North Sea gas extraction has reignited debate over UK fossil fuel policy and climate commitments.
