Sultan of Oman received by King Charles at Windsor Castle

Original: haïtham ben tariq

Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman is being welcomed by King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Windsor Castle rather than at Buckingham Palace. French media are focusing on the choice of venue, with Vanity Fair explaining why the state visit is being hosted at the royal residence in Windsor instead of the monarch's official London palace.

Why now: The Omani sultan's state visit to the UK and the unusual choice of Windsor Castle over Buckingham Palace is drawing media attention.
