Cable maker Nexans has begun production of 525 kV high-voltage direct current cables for the LanWin2 offshore wind grid connection, a project by Dutch-German transmission operator TenneT. The subsea cables will carry power from North Sea wind farms to the German grid. The development marks progress on one of Europe's major offshore grid expansion projects.
