Yamagata fans crowded before Sendai derby, club admits fault

Original: モンテディオ山形

J2 club Montedio Yamagata said crowd-flow management was insufficient after supporters packed together ahead of the match against Vegalta Sendai on the 11th. The club acknowledged the congestion problem in a statement reported by Kahoku Shimpo, drawing attention ahead of one of the J.League's fiercest regional derbies.

Why now: Supporter crowding before a high-profile derby raised safety concerns just days before the match.
