Christina Applegate says her Anchorman pay offer was offensive

Original: will ferrell

Christina Applegate has revealed that her initial salary offer for Anchorman was, in her words, offensive, despite the film's starring role. Will Ferrell and Adam McKay stepped in and contributed from their own pay to boost hers. The story is drawing attention as a fresh example of pay inequality in Hollywood, even among well-known lead actors in major studio comedies.

Why now: A co-star's candid account of unequal pay on a famous comedy is renewing debate about Hollywood salary gaps.
