Diversity devroom proposal rejected for FOSDEM 2027

A group of open-source developers proposed a dedicated diversity, equity and inclusion devroom for FOSDEM 2027, inspired by their experiences at this year's conference in Brussels. Together with collaborators, Rosanna Sibora submitted the proposal, but organisers rejected it. She shared the disappointment publicly, saying each year FOSDEM leaves them inspired, and the rejection has resonated with community members discussing inclusion in free software spaces.
Why now: The FOSDEM community is discussing diversity and inclusion after the rejection of a DEI devroom proposal.
