Amsterdam Dance Event opens amid debate over nightlife's future
Original: ade
The Amsterdam Dance Event has kicked off, with Dutch media focusing on both the festival and concerns about nightlife culture. Trouw published a piece arguing that the collective euphoria of dancing through the night is under pressure and remains essential. Meanwhile, Dutch Railways is running six trains per hour between Utrecht and Amsterdam on Saturday to handle the extra festival crowds.
Why now: ADE is starting right now, drawing large crowds and prompting discussion about the state of Dutch nightlife and extra transport measures.
