Infosec world laughs at its own self-serious image
Original: infosec industry: this is very serious business and we are very serious people also infosec industry: four # infosec
People in the cybersecurity community are sharing a joke poking fun at the infosec industry's self-image: on one hand it insists information security is deadly serious business run by very serious professionals, and on the other it fixates on trivia such as the number four in hashtag handles. The quip has drawn amused agreement from security practitioners who recognise the contradiction.
Why now: The contrast between the industry's gravitas and its online behaviour struck a chord with security professionals joking about themselves.
