Simone Biles absent from World Championships as Michelle Obama tribute circulates

Original: simone biles

Simone Biles is in the news for two reasons: the artistic gymnastics World Championships are underway without her, raising questions about whether the American star will return to competition. Meanwhile, Michelle Obama gave Biles a public shoutout, prompting an emotional response from the gymnast, who told the former first lady she had made her year.

Why now: Biles is missing the World Championships and a celebrity tribute to her has just surfaced.
