Original: Scientific Triumph, Equity Failure: Faster, Fairer COVID-19 Vaccine Roll-Out Could Have Saved Millions of Lives, UN University Publication Reveals
The United Nations University has published a report arguing that the global COVID-19 vaccine rollout, while a scientific triumph, failed on equity, and that a faster and fairer distribution of doses could have saved millions of lives. The publication highlights how wealthier countries secured vaccine supplies early in the pandemic while lower-income nations waited, deepening health inequalities.
Why now: The UN University's new publication is drawing attention to vaccine inequity findings with major implications for future pandemic preparedness.
