Starry sky shines over retired Chile telescope in new photo

The SETI Institute shared a picture of the night sky above ESO's La Silla Observatory in Chile, where stars reflect off the 15-meter dish of the Swedish–ESO Submillimetre Telescope. Photographed by José Rodrigues, the now-retired telescope stands silhouetted beneath the southern sky, a striking reminder of its years of submillimetre astronomy before it was decommissioned.
