Haaretz urges reporters to dismiss Israeli official claims on West Bank
Original: Analysis • How to report on West Bank violence: Ignore Israeli officials' lies
Haaretz has published an analysis piece arguing that journalists covering violence in the West Bank should disregard statements from Israeli officials, which the newspaper characterizes as lies. The piece addresses how international and Israeli media frame incidents of West Bank violence, suggesting official narratives routinely distort events and that reporting should rely on verified facts on the ground rather than official accounts.
Why now: Ongoing West Bank violence and debate over how media covers the conflict keep criticism of official Israeli narratives in the spotlight.
