EndSARS Documentary 'Who Gave The Order' Renewing Calls for Justice
Original: endsars
Nigerians are revisiting the October 2020 EndSARS protests against police brutality, with renewed attention on the film 'Who Gave The Order', described as bearing witness to the birth of a revolution. The documentary examines the crackdown on protesters, most notably the Lekki toll gate shooting, and keeps alive the demand to know who authorised the military deployment. Five years on, the question of accountability remains unanswered, and viewers are sharing the film as a reminder of unresolved grief and anger.
Why now: Renewed discussion around the EndSARS protests and demands for accountability on their anniversary, driven by a new documentary revisiting the crackdown.
