South Korean golfer Ahn Sun-ju, retiring from the Japan tour, entertained Japanese reporters by revealing she learned Japanese by watching the anime Detective Conan — picking up words like 'cover-up' and 'confinement'. Her candid personality and puns drew laughter from the press at what appeared to be a farewell media event.
Why now: Her retirement from the Japanese tour prompted a farewell press appearance where her charm and unusual language-learning story resonated with fans.
