AFC weighs fate of 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia

Original: アジアサッカー連盟

The Asian Football Confederation is at the centre of debate over whether January's Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia will go ahead as planned or be postponed by a year, as fighting with the Houthis intensifies nearby. Reports say a move to another host country has been ruled out, leaving the tournament's schedule uncertain ahead of next month's draw and preparations.

Why now: Ongoing regional conflict is putting the hosting of a major continental football tournament in doubt.
