Poll finds plurality of active-duty troops oppose war with Iran
Original: Plurality of active-duty service members oppose Iran war: poll
A new poll reported by Responsible Statecraft finds that a plurality of active-duty US service members oppose a war with Iran. The finding stands out because it captures the views of the military itself rather than civilians, and it is likely to feed into a wider debate in Washington over whether military action against Iran is justified or wise.
Why now: Tensions over potential US military action against Iran are high and the survey gives a rare measure of service members' own views.
