Blade Runner 2099 To Flip The Original With 'Sunshine Noir'

Original: Blade Runner 2099 Turns The Original Film’s World On Its Head: ‘We’re Doing Sunshine Noir’

The makers of Blade Runner 2099, the upcoming series set in the world of the 1982 sci-fi classic, say the show will upend the original film's signature look by trading its rain-soaked darkness for what they call 'sunshine noir'. The creative team describes a brighter, sunlit take on the dystopian universe while keeping its noir sensibility, a striking reversal of the visual style that defined the franchise.
