Astronomers report discovery of the first green star
Original: Astronomers say they’ve discovered the first green star
Astronomers say they have identified what they describe as the first green star ever observed, a claim reported by US local news outlets. Star colour is normally described in blue, white, yellow, orange or red terms, so a genuinely green star would be an unusual find that is drawing attention from space enthusiasts and scientists.
Why now: The claimed discovery of a green star would be unprecedented, since stars are not typically classified as green, prompting curiosity and debate.
