German commenter suggests Union and SPD be socialized
Original: Mein Vorschlag wäre # Union und # SPD zu vergesellschaften - denn offensichtlich wurden die ohne unser Wissen im Stillen
A widely shared comment in German political discussion proposes that the Union and the SPD should be 'vergesellschaftet' — brought into public ownership — arguing that the two parties must already have been privatized in secret, since they appear to act without the public's knowledge. The quip is being read as a satirical jab at the governing coalition, suggesting the parties serve private interests rather than voters.
Why now: Frustration with the German governing coalition's perceived unaccountability is fueling sarcastic political commentary.
