Trump signs executive order on women's health research

Original: LIVE: Donald Trump signs order aimed at boosting women's health research, a plan backed by First Lady Melania Trump

Donald Trump has signed an executive order aimed at boosting research into women's health, a plan publicly backed by First Lady Melania Trump. The order directs greater federal attention and funding toward studying health conditions that affect women, an area long described as underfunded relative to men's health. The move was carried live by major US broadcasters and is drawing attention for the unusual bipartisan appeal of women's health funding, as well as the First Lady's visible role in the initiative.

Why now: The signing was broadcast live and combines a sitting president's action with the First Lady's high-profile involvement in a women's health initiative.
