Wizards of the Coast staff unionize over AI concerns
Original: WotC employees working on D&D and MtG are unionizing, partly due to concerns about replacing human creativity with slop.
Employees at Wizards of the Coast, the Hasbro subsidiary behind Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering, are forming a union. Workers cite concerns that the company is pushing adoption of large language models, arguing it threatens to replace human creativity with AI-generated content. Supporters are spreading the word and tagging the effort with D&D and WotC communities online.
Why now: The union drive touches a nerve in gaming communities already anxious about AI displacing creative workers.
