Palestinian night watches guard West Bank homes from settler attacks

Original: The night watch: Palestinians protecting their homes from settler pogroms https://www. aljazeera.com/features/2026/10 /1

Palestinians in the occupied West Bank are organising volunteer night watches to protect their homes and villages from settler attacks, in an Al Jazeera feature. Residents describe coordinating patrols and alerts to respond quickly when settlers approach, as communities say they cannot rely on protection from Israeli forces amid rising violence.

Why now: Ongoing settler violence in the West Bank is driving renewed attention to community self-protection efforts.
