Original: పులస చేప

Prices of the prized Godavari pulasa fish have fallen sharply at the Yanam market, according to a Telugu daily report. Pulasa, a seasonal variety of hilsa found in the Godavari river during monsoon, is typically sold at premium rates in Andhra Pradesh. Reports of lower prices are drawing attention among seafood traders and lovers of the delicacy.

Why now: Pulasa fish is a highly coveted monsoon delicacy in Andhra Pradesh, so unusual price movements in a major market quickly become news.
