A British science fiction comedy called The Time Diary is drawing attention with an outlandish premise: Paul McCartney accidentally helped invent time travel. The book, styled in the mould of Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, pitches the idea as deliberately absurd, and early readers are sharing the sample with a mix of amusement and scepticism about the theory's logic.
Why now: The book's absurd premise tying Paul McCartney to time travel is an eye-catching, comedic hook that people are amused by and passing around.
