Giovanni Floris says politics devalues teachers
Original: giovanni floris
Italian journalist Giovanni Floris criticised politicians for undermining the teaching profession, saying 'there are ignorant people with three degrees' and that ignorance means a lack of curiosity and contempt for differences. He argued that society must restore value to knowledge and to those who teach, comments that have drawn attention in Italy's ongoing debate over the status of educators.
Why now: His remarks on the devaluation of teaching touch a live debate in Italy about the prestige of the education profession.
