Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is in position to win a third consecutive NBA Most Valuable Player award, a feat achieved by only a handful of players in league history. The Canadian star led OKC to the 2025 championship and claimed the 2024-25 MVP, and discussion now centres on whether he can join the exclusive group of three-time in-a-row winners like Wilt Chamberlain, Larry Bird and LeBron James.
Why now: The new NBA season is prompting debate over whether Gilgeous-Alexander can sustain his dominance and match a rarity achieved by only a few legends.
