A review of 'Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2' argues the sequel anime from CD Projekt RED and Studio Trigger struggles to match the impact of the first series. It notes the show ups the ante by trading one doomed hero's journey for an ensemble cast, but says Night City's story doesn't burn as brightly the second time around. Reaction is focused on whether the follow-up can escape the long shadow cast by the original.

Why now: The new season of the popular Cyberpunk anime is being reviewed and compared against the acclaimed first series.
