A newly allocated autonomous system, AS401701, has been registered in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong, and was logged on 17 October 2026. Cybersecurity watchers track such fresh network registrations because new ASNs can host misconfigured or exposed services, making them a routine point of interest for internet scanning and threat-surface mapping.

Why now: Infosec researchers routinely flag newly registered ASNs as potential sources of exposed or misconfigured internet-facing services.
