UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is set to hold talks with the European Union on law enforcement cooperation, meeting with EU commissioner Magnus Brunner. The discussions are expected to focus on security and policing ties between Britain and the bloc, an area reshaped since Brexit. The talks signal continued efforts by the UK government to deepen its relationship with the EU on practical cooperation.
Why now: Post-Brexit UK-EU relations remain a live topic, and renewed security cooperation talks represent a notable development in that relationship.
