Mastodon users dismiss Bluesky's self-styled investigative reporters
Original: One of the reasons why I do NOT take the whole "investigative reporter at bluesky!!!" thing seriously is, at one point,
A user on Mastodon is criticising people who call themselves investigative reporters on Bluesky, saying they lack real credibility. The poster claims to have personally risked their own safety, and that of people close to them, to expose what they describe as an ICE detention facility being built at a nearby military base, contrasting that danger with what they see as performative online journalism.
Why now: Ongoing debate over credibility of amateur online journalists amid immigration enforcement controversies in the US.
