Original: Mitos editor is a fork of Helix
Mitos, a new code editor, is drawing attention after it emerged that the project is a fork of Helix, the open-source terminal-based editor. The claim has sparked discussion among developers about how openly the project discards or credits its upstream codebase, and whether forks should state their origins more prominently.
Why now: Developers are discussing transparency and attribution when a new editor is built as a fork of a popular open-source project.
