Tanner McKee in line to start as Jalen Hurts sidelined

Original: tanner mckee

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is out indefinitely after being diagnosed with a blood clot and is not expected to be placed on injured reserve, according to ESPN reporting. That leaves backup Tanner McKee positioned to take over as the starter while Hurts recovers, a major development for the Eagles' season as they navigate a key stretch without their franchise quarterback.

Why now: Jalen Hurts' indefinite absence puts McKee into the starting role, making him a sudden focus of NFL attention.
