UK 'No Supermarket' protest planned for October 28 after French boycotts
Original: France did a “you won't fix this? aight bet”protest, while the UK is planning a “No Supermarket” protest on October 28th
A consumer boycott day is being planned in the UK for October 28, calling on shoppers to avoid supermarkets for the day. The idea draws comparisons with France, where boycott campaigns targeting companies and the cost of living have gained momentum this year. Supporters say withholding spending is a way to pressure retailers and policymakers over prices, while critics question whether a single-day action can change anything.
Why now: Frustration over food prices and the cost of living is driving interest in consumer boycotts in both countries.
