Chuck Berry, born October 18, 1926, would have turned 100, and music and film fans are marking the anniversary. Posts recall the guitarist and songwriter behind 'Johnny B. Goode' as the original king of rock'n'roll, and the milestone has renewed attention on his cameo in pop culture — the fictional 'Marvin Berry' in 'Back to the Future' was created as a nod to him, alongside renewed circulation of documentary material subtitled in Italian.
Why now: The 100th anniversary of Chuck Berry's birth is prompting tributes and renewed interest in his legacy.
