British, French and German forces are preparing joint exercises in Poland simulating a postwar deployment to Ukraine, according to a report carried by Ukrinform. The drills point to growing Western planning for a possible stabilisation or reassurance force once fighting ends, and are likely to fuel debate about the scale and timing of European military commitments to Ukraine's security.
Why now: It signals concrete Western military planning for a postwar presence in Ukraine, a sensitive and widely debated step.
