Uttar Pradesh Farmers Start Booking Wheat Seeds for Rabi Season
Original: गेहूँ
Wheat is in the news in India as rabi season seed bookings open in Uttar Pradesh. The state agriculture department has begun online bookings for wheat and chickpea seeds at a 50 percent subsidy for farmers. However, in Gonda district, farmers report the booking website has not been working for two days, causing frustration during the registration window.
Why now: Farmers are rushing to book subsidised wheat seeds as rabi season bookings open, while website failures are causing problems.
