Concerns Rise That Free Software Is Being Targeted
Original: They're Targeting Your Free Software Now
A widely circulated commentary claims that free software is now being targeted, apparently by regulators, companies or other actors seeking to restrict or monetise it. No specifics are given about which software, which organisations are involved, or what actions have been taken. The claim has drawn large engagement as users debate the future of free and open-source tools and possible threats to freely available software.
Why now: unclear
