EU leaders rally behind Zelenskyy at Brussels summit

Original: EU leaders pledge support for Ukraine's Zelenskyy at Brussels summit as US backpedals

European Union leaders meeting in Brussels have pledged continued support for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, framing the show of unity as a response to shifting US policy on the war. The pledge underscores growing concern in Europe that Washington's commitment to Kyiv is weakening, leaving the EU to take on a larger share of political and military backing for Ukraine.

Why now: Fears that US support for Ukraine is fading have pushed Europe to publicly reaffirm its backing at a high-profile summit.
