CIJA marks Sinwar death anniversary with call for tougher anti-terror action
Original: On Anniversary of Sinwar’s Death, CIJA Calls for Stronger Action Against Terrorism as Hamas Leaders Continue to be Glorified in Canada
One year after Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was killed in Gaza, the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs marked the anniversary by urging the Canadian government to take stronger action against terrorism. The group says Hamas leaders continue to be openly glorified at events in Canada, and is pressing Ottawa to more vigorously enforce anti-terrorism laws and respond to public praise of the designated terrorist organization.
Why now: The first anniversary of Sinwar's death has prompted advocacy groups to renew criticism of Canada's handling of Hamas glorification at home.
