Talk Grows Over a 24-Team College Football Playoff

Original: 24 team playoff

Discussion is building around expanding the College Football Playoff to 24 teams. SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey said a decision on further playoff expansion will come 'sooner rather than later', fuelling debate among fans and analysts about how a larger field would work, which conferences would benefit, and how soon changes could take effect beyond the current 12-team format.

Why now: The SEC commissioner's comments have renewed speculation that the playoff could soon grow well beyond 12 teams.
