Half of gun owners skip hygiene habits after shooting lead ammo
Original: Most gun owners use lead ammunition, yet half don’t practice hygiene behaviors after shooting https:// lemmy.zip/post/73
A new finding indicates that although most gun owners shoot lead-based ammunition, about half do not follow hygiene practices such as washing hands or changing clothes after shooting. Lead exposure is a known health risk, and shooters may ingest or carry residue home, potentially exposing family members. The results have drawn attention to gaps in safety guidance for recreational shooters.
Why now: The finding highlights a widespread and preventable lead-exposure risk among gun owners.
